Hawk Walks in West Sussex Woodlands

Become a Falconer for the day and experience the magic of Hawk Walks in West Sussex. A memorable day for each individual, walking in the woods with a bird of prey.

Starting out from Compton in West Sussex, come and enjoy a unique experience walking with a Harris Hawk in beautiful West Sussex woodland and countryside.

Observe the bird, flying from tree to tree, ever watchful for the opportunity to seek out and chase the elusive prey.

We fly Harris Hawks "Jake or Smudge" (Parabuteo). Native to Central and Southern America, Harris Hawks are widely used in Britain for hunting, displays and pest control.

A Typical Hawk Walks Day in West Sussex

The day begins at around 10.00am with coffee/tea. Then it is off into the woods. After a pub lunch, the day continues on until 3.00pm.

There is quite a lot of walking involved on a Hawk Walks Day, particularly the full day. However, the terrain is reasonably level throughout. Suitable clothing is advised; wellies, walking boots, in darker colours, warm for chillier days.

Come rain or high wind, the Hawk Walk will be postponed and re-scheduled for another day.

Falco provide other falconry events and experience days to suit all occasions. Falconry Weddings, Anniversaries, Falconry Birthday Parties and, of course, Experience Days for that unique gift. We look forward to welcoming you on your day spent with the "Birds".
